I really enjoyed those times and still think about them very fondly and I see faces around the area now which I cant put a name to but remember them from years ago.and they are probably all Grandparents now,let alone just parents. I knew an Alan Jones and at that time around the area,I knew a hell of a lot of lads & girls who just hung around the Square & the Sefton Estate of a night and at weekends etc.everybody seemed to know everybody else,if you know what I mean. Frankie McShane,Ray Purcell.Alan Wilcox,Mickey Brooks,Kenny Hounslea,Gordon Lloyd and many other mates for those really happy days. I also hung around with a load of mates on the Sefton Estate.2 of those mates used to go out with twin sisters,the Davidson Sisters Sandra and Lilian who's Dad had moved the family down from Scotland as he worked in the Giro. I used to knock around with lads who lived around the Eden Vale area and at 18 I worked as a Barman in the Eden Vale under the then Manager John Cuddihey. she had a brother named Mike? I recall there was nearly always "murder" outside the Youthie which eventually lead to its sad closure. If it is the same girl we had an Ann Morley lived in our Street. I lived in St.Aidans Way which runs down parallel with "the cut" (canal for all you posh bods) I went to Netherton Moss and then onto Bootle Grammar when it was still on the Marian Way behind the Square.
